Have you ever decided to have a garden? What was the first thing you did when you decided the exact spot for your garden? Most likely the first thing you did was to get rid of the weeds by either pulling them or using some type of weed killer. Lets take a little closer look at those weeds.
When we pull weeds we have to be sure that we get all the runners and roots out otherwise the weed will come back. Weeds are a hardy and persistent lot. They seem to grow in the poorest of soil and under the harshest of conditions. Weeds are accustomed to struggling to survive. When we till them under and fertilize the soil weeds seem to really grow. However, many weeds are more than just the bane of the garden. Some offer healing and assistance to our health and well being while others can even be used for food.
What about the garden of your spirit? Have you pulled all the weeds that are growing there? The weeds of want, need, fear, hate, jealousy and sadness. Sometimes in the process of pulling those weeds out of our spiritual garden we leave roots and runners that go very deep, ready to spring back stronger than ever. When we fertilize our garden and plant love, hope and joy and water them with thankfulness the weeds of want and need transmute into the lovely flower that is Us.
A wise gardener knows the difference between beneficial bugs and destructive bugs, and knows that to enrich the soil some type of fertilizer or food must be added to enrich the soil to encourage the growth of what they plant. Perhaps the first year of the garden may not have such a bountiful produce but they just keep adding the food and keep pulling the weeds. Of course it makes for sore muscles but the end result is fantastic!
This is much the work we each must do in our spiritual garden. We all have a compost pile of things that are unwanted in our lives. Think of it as a compost pile that we keep adding to. Then we use this compost on our garden to fertilize and feed the wonderous things we have co-created things or a state of Be-ing that we desire. The weeds in our lives are the thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve us. Sometimes these weeds have roots that go deep and strong. If we just keep plowing them under the result is that these weeds will become more tenacious and come back stronger than ever.
Take a look at your spiritual gardenwhat is planted there? What do you desire to plant there? Are there weeds in your garden? Just like the weeds in your outward garden, if you do not take the time to pull them out, they will take over your inner garden and choke out the good growththe things we intentionally sow.
What do you desire in your life? Do you like what you have planted in your garden? Sometimes we plant things in our garden out of habit. In this new/now time we have the choice to either plant new seeds or continue to keep planting the same things. As you pull the weeds out of your inner garden and it becomes painful work keep in mind that by getting those weeds out by the roots you will not have to pull them again. You are paving the way for growth. Progress!
Once you have decided, accept nothing less than what you desire. There is a big difference between want and desire. Want goes hand in hand with the belief in lack and not having. Desire is adding something new to a situation. Rather than just wishing, take it a step farther and demand nothing less than what you desire. This is a strong commitment and informs the Universe that you are serious and the Universe can get to work on it pronto!
Listen to your body, it is the ultimate pendulum, the ultimate dowsing tool to inform you of what you require to know. When you ask yourself should I do this or that? does your jaw tense up, your brow furrow, does your body tense up somewhere? Or do you find a sense of peace and joy? Do you find yourself smiling? Trust your feelings, your body already knows the answer!
*I wish to thank my dear sisters of the heart for this wonderful analogy. It is a battle you have worked so hard to understand. You are making the way smoother for the rest of us. Much Love to you! *
